MEMBER'S TOURNAMENT - AUGUST 4-10, 2025 

The 2025 PTGC Member's Tournament is fast approaching.  The sign up deadline for the Saturday night, August 9th, catered meal (no charge to the member) is July 25th at midnight. An accurate headcount is needed for this meal. The sign up sheet is on the bulletin board at the clubhouse. The no charge meal, catered by local chefs Sara and DJ Albrecht, is due to the generous donations by Rock Creek Meats, Solutions North Bank, Outdoor Bank and Hill City Pharmacy. All members, playing in the tournament activities or not, are welcome at the dinner, but must be signed up, so get to the clubhouse today. There will also be lunch provided Sunday after play to members in the tournament. We did not post sign up sheets for the week night games. If you would like to participate in these, registration will begin at 5:30, play will follow at 6:00 each night. Monday night starts the tournament week off with a chip and putt contest and all the other traditional plays follow each night, culminating with the stroke play, two day tournament on Saturday and Sunday, August 9 and 10. Handicap scores will be cut off on Wednesday night, August 6, for that portion of the tournament, as handicaps are used for groupings on the Thursday night horse race play. The stroke play tournament is both regular stroke scoring and handicap scoring, so two ways to win there. For those members with handicaps, keep playing and posting scores for the most accurate handicap index possible.

 

The prize committee, headed by Bob Dombroski, has been incredibly successful procuring additional cash and prizes to enhance the entire tournament experience. NO HARD SHELL NUTS ALLOWED

The PTGC maintenance staff is requesting a total ban on all hard shell nuts (sunflower seeds, pistachios, peanuts, etc.) anywhere on the golf course.

 

FIX DIVOTS 

We are asking everyone to fix their ball marks on the greens, especially if practicing pitches from any distance.

 

GOLF CART RENTALS

Please see below the City Ordinance concerning rental carts at PTGC:

       § 12-112 GOLF CART TRESPASS - Hill City, KS Hill City, KS Code of Ordinance

(a) Golf cart trespass. It is unlawful for any person to operate or trespass upon the Prairie Trails Golf Course's golf cart without paying the required rental fee in advance. (b) Violation. (1) A violation of the section shall be a municipal offense and may be prosecuted in municipal court. (2) Any person found guilty of a violation of this section shall be subject to a fine of $25 for the first offense and $100 for each offense thereafter.

If one of the course carts is being used, ensure the rental fee is paid.

 

CART SHEDS

Please shut shed doors when you are leaving and make sure it stays shut and doesn't bounce back open.  Too many dollars worth of carts, clubs and equipment are exposed when the doors are left open.

MEN'S NIGHT

With the coming time change, Men's Night at PTGC began on March 11th. Registration at 5:50 pm and tee off at 6:00. The Men's Night prize committee has again this year procured prizes and cash for flag prizes to enhance the weekly competition. ANNUAL MEETING

The Prairie Trails Golf Course 2025 Annual Board Meeting was held Wednesday, January 15th at 7:00 p.m., at Cowboy Junction. Items on the agenda included: Election of Advisory Board Members, 2024 Financial Review, 2025 Project Planning, Tournament Schedule, along with other items. NEW MEMBERS

Prairie Trails Golf Course is looking for NEW members. New members can join for $150 (in-county or out-of-county).  New memberships can be individual or family (family=husband /wife and children up to 18 years of age). New 2nd-year members can join for $250 (in-county or out-of-county). New residents receive first year free and then pay 2nd-year fees. Current members, please pass the word.
